Technical and Soft Skills

Technical Skills

  • Software Proficiency: In my school and work experiences, I have excelled at proficiency in every software I have utilized. The types of software I have used include multiple types of POS systems, SPSS and SAS software for statistical coursework, and EPIC at my current job, among others.

Soft Skills

  • Communication Proficiency: During my experiences, I have learned and become proficient in my communication skills. This is true with coworkers, management, and clients/patients. I have experienced both positive and negative conversations that have taught me how to respond quickly but appropriately to every situation.
  • Time Management: Proper time management is very important in any role. I have shown proficiency in this by meeting project deadlines, not showing up to work late, and consistently completing tasks so as not to let things pile up. All of these things help me to be a proficient worker, especially in my role as a scheduler.
  • Problem-Solving and Adaptability Proficiency: Proficiency in both of these coincides with one another. Problem-solving tasks require being adaptable to any situation thrown at you. I have experienced this recently whenever we had the ice storms. We had to problem-solve how to get all the patients who missed appointments because of the storm in to see their providers. This required adaptability on both our part as office staff and the therapists.
